Nefertiti Media was founded in 2016 to shine a light on Africa’s bold and prosperous future, and that of its women in particular.
Meet the founder
With close to 20 years of PR and communications experience, Elle Williams has spent most of her career in the higher education sector, at Stanford University, the University of the West Indies and most recently the University of Cape Town, where she was Head of Development Communications and Editor of the UCT Alumni News magazine during the time of the Rhodes Must Fall and Fees Must Fall movements.
While living overseas, she worked as a regular columnist for the Stanford Daily, edited published books on decoloniality with leading academics at the University of the West Indies’ Centre for Caribbean Thought, and produced and presented television inserts for Talk TV Jamaica.
Back in South Africa she has worked with brands ranging from the Baxter Theatre Centre, Primedia Broadcasting, LifeCheq and Mercedes-Benz SA, to non-profit organisations like the Township Opera Company and FoodForward South Africa.
Elle is a proud graduate of Stanford University, and an even prouder mother to 13 year old Malik and 10 year old Amira. She is into fast cars and yoga, Deepak and Tupac, and she truly believes that one day we will all be free.
